Warangal district has a high prevalence of HIV / AIDS. Tharuni has launched a sustained campaign to bring awareness
among the target groups so that the damage is minimised. Otherwise the entire generation next will be wiped out with
AIDS.
As part of the campaign interactive sessions with AIDS patients are organised so as to bridge bonds with the general public.
Many instances of our trainees and resource persons going out of the way through cash and kind contributions to reassure
these unfortunate victims that they are with them and should not feel lonely abound. This has given more strength to
the AIDS victims to live and fight it out instead of meekly giving up.

As a result of these sessions there is greater acceptance of AIDS victims in the society and a changed perspective has
been brought in among the key target groups of youth, women and adolescent girls about the need to have greater compassion
towards AIDS patients.
